Now on Streaming — Words of Plainness: Musical Testimonies

A small piece of news that means a great deal to me.

The first two singles from Words of Plainness: Musical Testimonies are now live on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, and iTunes. If you have a moment, give them a listen — and if either one finds a place in your week, save it, share it, or pass it along to someone who might need it.

The Marks of Your Worth — released March 16, 2026

This is the ministry anthem. It is a re-imagining of Come Thou Fount built around a covenant dialogue: the disciple speaks, and the Savior answers. The line that the whole song turns on is His, not ours — the marks of your worth are still upon Me. He has not forgotten what it cost to claim us. He carries the receipt.

I released this one on March 16 because that was my mother's birthday. She is the first person who taught me that I was loved before I had done anything to deserve it, and the song is a small offering back to that grace.

Three things the song confesses, plainly:

  • Christ calls each of us by name — not by category, not in a crowd
  • The marks of His Atonement are enduring witnesses of every soul's worth
  • Salvation is relational before it is spatial — heaven begins in the redeemed heart

The First One I Turn To — released May 9, 2026

The first of the chapter testimonies to arrive on streaming. It belongs to Chapter 14 of the ministry — Prayer as a Lifestyle — the chapter every other discipleship practice on the site is built on.

The title is the thesis. Prayer was never meant to be a performance, and it was never meant to be reserved for emergencies. It is the first direction the heart turns when there is nowhere else worth turning. Some days it is the only honest thing I have to offer. Some days it is enough.

If you have ever felt like prayer was something you were not doing right, this song is for you. If you have ever found the quiet middle of a long morning to be the place God was waiting all along, this song is for you too.

What this catalog is, and what it isn't

Words of Plainness: Musical Testimonies is the music side of the ministry. Each chapter on this site eventually receives a song that distills its central testimony — not a summary, but a witness. The song says, in plainness, what the chapter took longer to say in prose.

Two songs are out today. More will follow as the chapters that carry them are completed. If a song lands somewhere it was needed, that is the whole reason it exists.

If you would like to support the music traveling further, the most useful things you can do are simple: save the songs to your library on the platform you use, add them to a playlist if they fit, and share them with someone you trust. The streaming services pay attention to those signals more than any other.

Thank you for listening. Thank you for being here.
